Team Swaps AC 2019-2020.

A fun part of being a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator is attending team training days. As well as connecting with my wider team, these team days provide valuable crafting and business insights to help motivate and drive demonstrators. We often participate in a system called ‘swaps’. This is where we sign up and commit to making multiple copies of the same card or 3D project to have one per person on the list. When we see each other at the team day, we then go ahead and swap one of our own creations for one of the others on the list. So after making, say, 10 of the same design, I would come home from the team day with 10 different designs… 1 of my own, and 9 from the others on the sign up list.

I wasn’t able to make it on the day, but was still able to participate in the swaps because my fabulous upline, Alicia, was in attendance and swapped on the day for me.

Watch this space for a look at the swaps I received.

I choose to highlight the gorgeous new 2019-2020 In Colours. Stamping tone-on-tone as I did for the background is an easy way to add dimension to a card front without needing lots of cardstock layers or die cut pieces.

The stinking cute pandas are stamped using StazOn black ink on Shimmery White cardstock. This cardstock will handle a little water colouring; better than Whisper White cardstock. (Please note that Watercolour cardstock is by far the best for water colouring.) The Aqua Painters are perfect for this kind of water colour wash. Squeeze the lid of the ink pad into the centre to get some ink in the lid. This is then your pallet for water colouring.

I then die cut a Stitched Shape circle from Whisper White cardstock, and the leaves are a die from the Animal Friends Thinlets Dies in foil. The layer of vellum was punched out with the Everyday Label punch.

I love using white Stampin’ Embossing Powder on coloured cardstock like this. The Basic Grey cardstock complimented each of the In Colours. The metallic sequins and black Bakers Twine were perfect for tying together all of the elements.
