Hello! Welcome to my tutorial post for this fun fold Timeless Tropical card. I hope you enjoy having a go at making this card. Don’t forget to check out the tutorial video on my YouTube channel Made by Megan and subscribe to be notified of new videos from me.
I used the dimensions for this card from Alicia Yap’s tutorial over at her Paper Munchkin blog.

What you need to make this project:
- Standard card base, Pear Pizzazz – 10.5cm x 29.8cm
- Designer Series Paper, Tropical Oasis – 4 x 6 inches
- Thin Strips, Tropical Oasis – 1/4 x 4 inches
- Cardstock, Whisper White – 4 x 4 inches
- Whisper White scrap
Start by scoring the card base at 3/8″, 2″, 3 7/8″, 5 /12″ and 5 7/8″. Use your bone folder to define the the fold on these score lines.
Take a strong adhesive such as Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Tear & Tape to adhere the thinnest section next to the center fold of the card to the inside of the card. This ensures the fun fold front of the card sits well when open.
Adhere the thin strips to the card front, in the smallest sections. Next we need to chop the Designer Series Paper (DSP) piece up to fit into the remaining panels on the card front. Using your Paper Trimmer, place the 4 x 6 inch piece of DSP on the trimmer in the landscape position. Make all cuts on the left hand side of the DSP. Cut at 1 1/2″, 1 3/4″, 1 1/2″ and you should be left with a 1 1/4″ piece.
Lay out the Designer Series Paper (DSP) pieces so that the printed images are all in order. Adhere the first three panels from the left hand side to the front of your card. The remaining piece of DSP will be the 1 1/4″ piece; this will be adhered to the inside of your card, on the right hand side.

On the Whisper White 4 x 4 inch piece, stamp the two tree image from the Timeless Tropical stamp set. Use Stampin’ Write Markers in Pear Pizzazz and Soft Suede to colour in the stamp. I went over the center of the tree top and along the leaf fronds a little with the Pear Pizzazz marker to add dimension to the stamped image.
Using some Whisper White card stock scrap, punch out the Everyday Label punch. Stamp the ‘Thank You’ sentiment in Black Momento ink. Use the Pear Pizzazz marker again to colour the leaf stamp. Again, I went over the veins of the leaf a second time with the marker to add dimension to the stamped image.
Pop up the punched shape using Stampin’ Dimensionals being mindful to keep the left hand side of it open so that the flap on the card front will sit underneath freely. Adhere this to the Designer Series Paper on the inside of this card.

I originally made this card design with Best Dressed Designer Series Paper (DSP) and Floral Essence stamp set. I love how one card design can be mixed up to suit different occasions and people. This floral card is very feminine and soft, while the Timeless Tropical card above is a good masculine card. Mix it up again with a different colour scheme and it would make a wonderful card for a child.
