May 8×8 Sampler Class.

This months sampler page was ‘Life’s Coming up Daisies’ theme, and was made using the gorgeous Ornate Specialty Designer Series Paper. All class attendees made the same sampler lay out, but were able to personalize the project through the sentiments they chose. See below for the different end results.

The Mint Macaron and So Saffron cardstock layers were embossed using the Subtles embossing folder. To add a little more texture, the cardstock layers we embossed once, turned 90 degrees and then embossed a second time. This gave a cross hatched texture.

We stamped and punched out the daisies from the Daisy Lane stamp set to create the focal image. I like to make each daisy with three punched flowers, and I always curl the petals with a bone folder to add dimension. A bit of Multipurpose Liquid Glue or a Glue Dot holds the layers together nicely.

The leaves were stamped from the Painted Harvest stamp set, and then punched out using the Leaf Punch. We coloured Clear Faceted Gems using the Light Daffidol Delight Stampin’ Blends before placing them in the centre of each daisy.

A strip of Gold Glimmer was die cut with one of the Ornate Borders dies and adhered to the center panel. This piece just finishes off the center panel.

On the day of class I put out the stamp sets I had which had uplifting/positive sentiments and sayings. It was from these that the class attendees could choose. They were then stamped on So Saffron and Terracotta Tile cardstock in VersaMark, and then dipped in White Embossing Powder.

Each of the side panels had a strip of Braided Linen Trim, which was teased apart and adhered in place using Glue Dots.
