July’s sampler page was chosen by popular demand. The lovely ladies who attend this class had seen a flower heart page I had made for a market, and loved it so much they wanted to learn how to make one of their own – and who am I to say no?

We added texture to the coloured cardstock layer with a tone on tone watercolour wash using Water Painters.
The flowers were made by die cutting tissue paper using the In The Tropics Dies. The two larger solid flower dies are perfect for making quick paper flowers, and the set of three flowers die was good for making the smallest flowers. The small flowers were fiddly to adhere together, and caused a few sighs around the table, but were well worth the effort to define the heart shape. Everyone chose either silver or gold Metallic Pearls for the centers of the small flowers.
I enjoyed watching everyone choose tissue paper colours and work out placement of the flowers to make the heart shape.
The sentiment piece was trimmed to a point using the Tailored Tag punch. Simply feed one side in at a time to make custom length sentiment pieces to suit your choice of sentiment stamp.
We tied a big bow using the Whisper White Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon and adhered it behind the sentiment before adhering it onto the flowers.
To add a little more interest to the background we coloured Rhinestone Basic Jewels using Stampin’ Blends, and then placed them in a triangle around the flower heart.
Happy crafting x
