November 8×8 Sampler Class.

This months sampler was made using the Poinsettia Petals bundle. I love that this set works so well for a Kiwi Christmas. Don’t get me wrong, I do like snowflakes and reindeer for Christmas designs, but it is a bit funny working with those images when we are moving into a hot summer!

We embossed the main flower in Gold Emboss Powder onto Whisper White cardstock, and then cut them out using the coordinating dies. You can create fun texture to your flowers by simply curling the petals with your Bone Folder, or by scrunching up the flower in your hands. For this design we curled the petals using a Bone Folder, and we gave the leaves texture by scrunching them up in our hands.

One of the best features of the Poinsettia Dies is the fact that it has dies that will cut out the flowers or leaves, and a nesting die that will emboss texture onto the flower or leaf. We used this fun feature on the small white poinsettia in the top corner, and for the small red flowers in the bottom corner.

Did you notice the extra texture in the small red poinsettia flowers? It may not show up well in these pictures – but they were made using the Red Velvet Paper. This paper is just gorgeous, and adds dimension to any design.
