May Cards & Coffee.

May Cards & Coffee.

Hello! Welcome back to my blog. Today I have a monochrome coordinating gift bag and card set made using the Nothings Better Than You stamp set to share with you. The class attendees were able to choose from the 2021-2023 In Colours for their class kits. They are Evening Evergreen, Soft Succulent, Fresh Freesia, Pale Papaya, and Polished Pink. Inspiration for this card came from Wendy Fee of Wendy’s Little Inklings.

To make the gift bag we did some tone-on-tone stamping with the coffee cup stamp across the bottom of an Ombre Gift Bag. What is really cool is that there is a wee stamp for the stem coming up out of a cup.

Using a length of Basic White twine from the Bakers Twine Essentials Pack and a length of Fine Art Ribbon we made a zig zag pattern to sit behind the sentiment. I like to adhere the ribbon directly to the gift bag using Tear & Tape.

To make the sentiment we punched a piece of Basic White with the Everyday Label Punch, then stamped the coffee cup outline in Tuxedo Memento Black and filler image in the coordinating In Colour, and the steam in Soft Suede. Some of the filler images needed to be stamped off to make sure the detail could still be seen. For the sentiment we stamped the ‘Coffee’ in Early Espresso – I mean, name another colour that matches the theme of the project that well, am I right?! A few Rhinestone Basic Jewels placed around the sentiment and we were finished.

For the fun fold card, we stamped tone-on-tone again down the two side panels and then adhered them closed. We stamped the coffee cup, filler, and the ‘Coffee’ sentiment in the same manner as the gift bag, and added the sentiment ‘Today’s Plan…’ in Tuxedo Memento Black right at the top. This was then adhered to a piece of Basic Black cardstock, and adhered to the center panel. To finish it off, we added a few in the coordinating 2021-2023 In Colour Jewels to the card front.

Happy crafting x

Megan
