Let’s Get Hopping 48: CASE It For Christmas.

Let’s Get Hopping 48: CASE It For Christmas.

Hello, and welcome back to my blog. Today I am hopping with the crew from Let’s Get Hopping and our theme for this month is to CASE one of our own designs to create a Christmas project. If you’ve been following along with the hop, you would have come around from Mikaela. I hope you enjoyed what Mikaela had to share.

I chose to CASE the layout from this card I made last year during New Zealand’s Alert Level 4 lockdown. It bring it into Christmas I used Tidings of Christmas Designer Series Paper and the Evergreen Elegance Bundle. I LOVE a stamp set and punch bundle! Punches are super handy to keep close by when crafting.

To create the background I scrunched up a piece of DSP and adhered it to a Basic White card base. I then stamped the sentiment onto a piece of matching DSP and embossed it using White Emboss Powder, and adhered a torn piece of contrasting DSP to the bottom of the sentiment piece.

I used the Evergreen Border Punch to punch out a strip of Gold Foil, and then stamped two of the different sized trees in the Evergreen Elegance stamp set in Soft Succulent and Evening Evergreen.

To finish off the card I adhered some Gold Holly Leaves using Glue Dots in and around the sentiment piece, and tied a bow using a length of Cherry Cobbler and Gold Metallic Ribbon. This is a fun technique I learnt from Alicia Yap, where you cut off one edge of a length of ribbon, and pull out the long strands. You are left with a length of frayed ribbon which still has one edge secured, suitable for tying bows! Give it a go in your next crafting project.

Carry on with the hop and head over to see what Rachael has instore for you today. I’m excited to hop around myself and be inspired by all of the CASE’d Christmas projects.

Forever Blossoms Mini Pizza Box.

Forever Blossoms Mini Pizza Box.

Today I have a gorgeous gift box to share with you. I’ve dressed up the Mini Pizza Boxes with the Forever Blossoms stamp set to make a soft, feminine gift box. Place some yummy chocolates or a few tea pouches inside and it makes a lovely gift.

To make this project you will need:

  • Mini Pizza Box
  • Whisper White cardstock
  • Champagne Foil
  • Sponge Brayer
  • Sponge Dauber

Start by adding Flirty Flamingo ink to the Mini Pizza Box using the Sponge Brayer. Do this BEFORE folding on any of the scored lines. You can add as much or as little ink as you like, and you can make it as even or rough a coating as you please. I stayed light on the ink, and wasn’t too fussy about having a even coating.

Fold the Mini Pizza Box on the scored lines.

Stamp the large flower image from the Forever Blossoms stamp set in Tuxedo Black Momento ink. Stamp the individual and the two leaf stamp three times each.

Sponge the centers of the flowers with Flirty Flamingo and Cherry Cobbler using the sponge daubers. Sponge the leaves with Pear Pizzazz, and add detail using the Light Old Olive Blends.

NOTE: Take the Flirty Flamingo sponging out into the petals a little bit, and keep the Cherry Cobbler sponging just in the center of the flower.

Die cut the flowers and place to the side.

Using the detailed shapes from the Stitched So Sweetly Dies cut the third die up from the smallest in Champagne Foil and the second die up from smallest in Whisper White cardstock.

Stamp the sentiment in Cherry Cobbler in the center of the Whisper White piece. Ink up the flower bud image using Flirty Flamingo and Pear Pizzazz ink pads or markers. Stamp this off twice, and then stamp over top of the sentiment.

Adhere this piece to the Champagne Foil piece using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Tie a length of Petal Pink Organdy Striped Ribbon around the Mini Pizza Box and tie a large bow in the right-hand side of the lid.

Adhere the large flower to the lid on the left-hand side using Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals. Be sure to place the Dimensionals where they will sit either side of the ribbon.

Adhere the sentiment piece in the center of the lid using Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals. Again, be mindful of placement for the Dimensionals.

Finally, adhere the individual flowers to the sentiment piece using Glue Dots, and tuck the two-leaf images underneath the sentiment piece using Glue Dots.
