Water Front Fun.

Water Front Fun.

Hello! Today I have four fun projects to share with you which use the Waterfront stamp set. The four projects have the same stamped mountain landscape scene, with a few added extras to change it up. I found inspiration for the scene and colours from Amy O’Neill of Amy’s Paper Craft.

For this first design I simply stamped directly onto a Whisper White Notecard. You really don’t need to have a large crafting stash to create gorgeous cards. With as little supplies as paper, ink, some ribbon, and a stamp set you too can make a card everyone would love to receive.

To create the scene I used the following colours:

  • Clouds – Seaside Spray
  • Sun – So Saffron
  • Mountains – Soft Suede
  • Trees – Garden Green
  • Fields – Old Olive
  • Water – Balmy Blue, Bermuda Bay, and Night of Navy
  • Sentiment – Night of Navy
  • Ribbon – Braided Linen Trim

For this design I stamped the mountain scene onto a piece of Whisper White, and then adhered that to a Soft Suede card front. To add a bit of texture to the Soft Suede card front, I stamped the dots image in Soft Suede along two of the edges. I also added a longer piece of Braided Linen Trim and tied it around the Whisper White layer.

For this third design I stamped the mountain scene onto a piece of Whisper White and then adhered this to a Soft Suede A5 card base. The Soft Suede card front was stamped with dots as before, and I also added a layer of wood texture from the In Good Taste Designer Series Paper pack. I popped up the sentiment using Stampin’ Dimensionals, and added a short length of Braided Linen Trim behind it.

This is a card size that I almost never make, but one that I find is super useful for lots of people to sign and write notes for the recipient. I encourage you to have a go at creating a larger card like this one :).

Finally, I made a decor piece that fits into a 6×6 inch frame, matted for 5×5 inches. The mountain scene is stamped onto Whishper White, which is then adhered to wood texture from the In Good Taste Designer Series Paper pack, and then onto a Soft Suede layer.

Happy crafting x

Eclipse Card.

Eclipse Card.

Hello again crafty friends!

For this month’s technique class I designed these two eclipse cards using the wet wipe technique. This is a fun technique using reinkers, wet wipes and any stamps you like. Bold images show off the effect better, but you can see in the picture below that the lined image shows some of the variation in colours.

Fold your wet wipe in half, and place on a surface that won’t absorb the moisture. I used a plastic container from my craft room. The beauty is that Stampin’ Up! ink pads and refills are water based, and are easy to clean. (There are some non-water based ink pads, check out the catalogue for full info).

Colours I used were Daffodil Delight, Grapefruit Grove and Lovely Lipstick. Do a colour at a time on the wet wipe, making sure to keep a bit of distance between each drop. The colour will absorb into the wipe and blend a little. I always do more drops of the lightest colour, and fewer drops of the darkest colour.

Using what is now your ink pad, ink up your stamp. I like to dab the stamp a few times, moving it slightly each time to help the colours blend, and not leave a defined line between the colours.

The stamped images are from the Balloon Celebration stamp set, which is in the retiring list. If you love this set I recommend getting online to order it soon. All retiring products are while stocks last. Use my Host Code to receive a gift with purchase from me.

The word ‘Lets’ was die cut in the stamped panel using Large Letters Framelits Dies, after I had adhered it to a layer of Grapefruit Grove card stock.

This panel was then popped up using Foam Adhesive Strips. The strips are great for added extra height to any layer, and are able to be bent to curve around different shapes.

I used White Stampin Emboss Powder for the sentiment on the Lovely Lipstick card front.

I love the sentiments in the Picture Perfect Birthday stamp set. ‘Celebrate’ finished off the card front, and ‘Happiest of Birthdays to you’ made a sweet birthday wish for the center of the card.

To get the most out of the panel I stamped on, I used the die cut ‘Lets’ letters to make this cute note card. It uses a Whisper White Notecard base, Lovely Lipstick cardstock, Grapefruit Grove cardstock and the lovely Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon.

Happy crafting.
