Let’s Celebrate You.

Let’s Celebrate You.

Inspiration for this card stemmed from wanting to experiment with the Stampin’ Blends and alcohol technique on Vellum. It is such an easy and addictive technique to do, that I actually made a number of vellum pieces varying in colours. To do the technique you will need your Stampin’ Blends, a Stampin’ Spritzer, and some scrap paper such as the Grid Paper. Lay your piece of Vellum on top of the scrap paper – this will protect your work surface – and colour randomly with your Stampin’ Blends. Next, spritz some Isopropyl Alcohol over the Vellum. The more you spritz, the more the colour will mix and run together. You can help the blending along by ‘smooshing’ the Vellum with an acrylic block. Put the Vellum aside to dry, and get onto making your card base and other elements. So easy!

To make the spanner panel fun fold card I cut the front into three flaps. On the two outer pieces I adhered a strip of embossed and the sponged Misty Moonlight cardstock. I just love the texture of the Painted Texture 3D Embossing Folder, and using the Blending Brushes across the top helps to accentuate it. Next, I stamped the sentiment onto a strip pf Vellum, and adhered it to the two outer pieces of the card front. To hide where I had used adhesive behind the Vellum, I stamped, coloured, and die cut one of the flower images from the Colour & Contour Bundle and placed it on top with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I really wanted to make the spritzed Vellum panel the star of the card, so to highlight it I created a Gilded Leafing frame using Tear & Tape. Side note – how good is the Gilded Leafing?! So many ways to use it in your crafting. And to really make the colour pop, I adhered the Vellum panel to a piece of Basic White cardstock.

Have you tried this technique? What colours have you used? I would love to hear from you – be sure to leave a comment below.

Happy crafting x
