September 8×8 Sampler Class.

September 8×8 Sampler Class.

Hello! Welcome back to my blog and to another awesome sampler class design. To make this page we used the Whale Done bundle, which has lots of fun images and fun ‘punny’ sentiments. The images are great for creating an underwater scene, and that’s exactly what we did for the shaker section. Shaker elements are a great technique and it added a fun spin to this layout.

There are a number of sheets in the Whale of a Time Designer Series Paper pack that are great for making an under the sea seascape. We stamped the sea creatures from the Whale Done stamp set in different colours to fill in the seascape panel at the bottom of the page. To make the shaker portion, we used Whale of a Time Sequins and fussy cut small sea creatures from the Whale of a Time 6×6 Designer Series Paper. We then attached the window sheet using Foam Adhesive Strips, and a Calypso Coral frame on top with Tear n Tape.

A great tip to keep the small fussy cut pieces from becoming buried in the other shaker filler is to adhere a Mini Stampin’ Dimensional to the back and leave the backing in place.

To create the sentiment piece we stamped the sentiment close to the laft-hand side of a piece of Whisper White punched using the Everyday Label Punch. By sliding the opposite side back through the punch, we were able to make a custom sized sentiment piece.

Timeless Tropical Birthday.

Today I have a quick card to share with you using the Timeless Tropical stamp set and coordinating dies. I found inspiration for this card from Wendy Lee at CreativeLee Yours.

To make this project you will need:

  • Very Vanilla Thick card base – 14.9cm x 21cm
  • Terracotta Tile 6×6 DSP – 8.5cm x 12.9cm
  • Soft Suede card stock – 8cm x 12.4cm
  • Crumb Cake cardstock – 7.5cm x 4.5cm

Sponge the edges of the Terracotta Tile DSP piece using sponge Terracotta Tile ink and a Sponge Dauber.

Emboss the Soft Suede piece of cardstock using the Subtles 3D Embossing Folder. TIP: Emboss the piece in portrait orientation, and then a second time in landscape orientation for a cross-hatch design.

Adhere the Soft Suede piece to the Terracotta Tile DSP piece using Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Seal.

Adhere this to the Very Vanilla Thick card base using Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Seal.

Die cut two of the pineapple tops in Pear Pizzazz. Use a Light Old Olive Stampin’ Blend to add colour to the embossed lines. Curl the edges with a Bone Folder, and fold back the die cut triangles.

Adhere these two die cut pieces to the card front using Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Seal. TIP: Ensure they are positioned in the bottom 2/3’s of the card front.

Die cut the piece of Crumb Cake using the third up from smallest rectangle die from the Stitched So Sweetly Dies. Stamp the sentiment in Early Espresso onto the center of the Crumb Cake die cut piece.

Frey the length of Braided Linen Trim by pulling the edges apart. Adhere this to the bottom left-hand corner of the sentiment piece using Tear & Tape or Seal+.

Adhere the sentiment piece on top of the pineapple tops using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Die cut the three small flowers in Terracotta Tile. Use a sponge dauber to sponge the flowers with Terracotta Tile ink. Adhere the small flowers to the sentiment piece using Glue Dots.

A group I am a part of has been doing card challenges during our time in Alert Level 4, 3, and now 2. We were challenged to make a sympathy card using a neutral colour as well as our team colours – Night of Navy, Bermuda Bay and Daffodil Delight.

To complete this project you will need:

  • Card base, Crumb Cake – 14.9cm x 13cm
  • Front panel, Crumb Cake – 10cm x 10cm
  • Cardstock layers, Soft Suede – 2.25cm x 14.6cm AND 9.75cm x 9.75cm
  • Card insert, Bermuda Bay – 10.25cm x 14.6cm
  • Card insert, Whisper White – 10cm x 14.4cm

Score the Crumb Cake at 10.5cm on the long side and fold with a Bone Folder.

Emboss the two pieces of Soft Suede using the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder. Emboss once and then turn the pieces 90 degrees to get a crosshatch pattern. Adhere these to the Crumb Cake pieces of cardstock.

Line up the Crumb Cake front panel with the bottom edge of the card, and center left to right. Adhere to the inside to the top flap using Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Tear & Tape.

Die cut one large and two small solid and detailed flowers from the Poppy Moments dies in Whisper White.

Sponge the large solid flower with Night of Navy, and the two small solid flowers with Bermuda Bay using sponge daubers.

Repeat this with the three detailed flowers with Daffodil Delight. Colour the detailed flowers with Wink of Stella. Adhere the detailed flowers to the solid flowers using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Adhere the large flower to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals, and the two small flowers using Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Tear & Tape.

Stamp the sentiment ‘Words Are Never Enough’ from the Rooted in Nature stamp set on a strip of Bermuda Bay with VersaMark ink. Coat with white embossing powder and set using a heat tool. Trim the sentiment close to each word using Paper Snips. Adhere the sentiment pieces to the card front using Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Tie a 50cm length of Whisper White Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon around the top of the card front.

Adhere the Bermuda Bay piece to the inside of the card.

Sponge the edges of the Whisper White piece with Bermuda Bay using Sponge Daubers. Adhere this to the inside of the card.

Daisy Lane Mother’s Day.

Daisy Lane Mother’s Day.

Hello and welcome back to my blog! Today I have a fun Mother’s Day frame to share with you. I am fortunate enough to have a wonderful mum and mother-in-law in my life, so this Mother’s Day I was excited to share a handmade gift with them.

This colour combo is soft and feminine – Rococo Rose, Pear Pizzazz, Very Vanilla and So Saffron.

I made these frames using the Daisy Lane Bundle, which includes the Daisy Lane stamp set and Medium Daisy Punch. I also used the Daisy Punch.

The Subtle 3D Embossing Folder made an interesting texture for the Very Vanilla layer.

Happy crafting.
